This section describes the wide range of services and collections offered by the Porirua Library, and how you can join as a member.
You can come into the Library to borrow items, research and study, read the papers, or trace your family tree.
There are things of interest for all ages from board books for babies, comics for teenagers, DVDs, videos and music CDs for all the family and audio books and large print books for sight impaired readers.
The Maori and Pacific collections are comprehensive and have range of media available.
Justices of the Peace are available each week at Titahi Bay Library.
Hours: Mondays 2.00pm - 4.00pm
Justices of the Peace can assist with:
1. Witnessing signatures and documents
2. Certifying documents
3. Taking oaths, declarations, affidavits or affirmations

The library catalogue is fully computerised, enabling all the branch collections to be searched.
The Library also provides five terminals for internet access ($2.00 for 15 min) and word processing ($2.00 per hour). Printing costs 20 cents per page. Library staff cannot offer on the spot training with these services.
Free access to selected research databases are available via the Digital Library. These include funding information, journal articles and online encyclopedias.
Note: you cannot access the funding databases with a SMART library card. If you have one, please contact the Library for a code.
You can photocopy in black and white or full colour, on A4 or A3 paper. Charges are 20c per page for black and white copies of either size and $1.00 for A4 colour, or $2.00 for A3 colour.
