Tuesday 15 April | 10.30am–12.30pm | Let’s link up!

Come together to enjoy books highlighting the importance of teamwork. Then link up to create the biggest paper chain sculpture this library has ever seen! Decorate chain links in your own unique style and contribute them to the ever-growing sculpture. A station will be set up so you can contribute to this sculpture throughout the holidays.

Thursday 17 April | 2–3pm | Writing Together!

How many different paths can a story take when your neighbour writes the next sentence? Join us for a collaborative writing activity where you will work in a small group with other young writers to create a story together to share. This is suitable for confident young writers aged 8 and up. Limited numbers. RSVP to [email protected] to secure your spot!

Wednesday 23 April | 10.30–11.30am | How do you say ‘Meow’ in Japanese?

Do you know what your favorite animal friends sound like in Japanese? Come and find out! Together we can learn some new words, sing songs, play games and make some cool origami at this animal-themed story time. Dress code: come dressed in your favorite animal attire!

Thursday 24 April | 10.30am–12.30pm | Illustrate and shine!

Have you ever dreamt of seeing your own artwork in a picture book? Join illustrative forces and help us bring our story to life! Using drawing and collage techniques, we will create a one-of-a-kind picture book! Digital copies of the final masterpiece will be available after the holidays to all contributing illustrators, so they can share their work with the world.

All events happen in the City Centre Library Children’s Library area. Parents/caregivers must remain with children at all times. Photography may be taken at some events for promotional purposes – please advise us if you do not wish yourself or children to be photographed. Due to space and craft material limitations, please email in advance to advise if you are planning on bringing large groups.
