Wave - Listen to stories from Japanese authors and illustrators, then recreate Katsushika Hokusai’s famous painting, Under the Wave off Kanagawa, in collage. All ages.


Friday 14 April, From 9.30am

Reading Room, City Centre Library
Pick up the Pieces - Pick your puzzle and join the challenge to complete it in one day. We’ll have two 500-piece puzzles competing for completion, with spot prizes of fabulous Gecko books by international authors for the keenest puzzlers. We’ll keep the vibes global, playing world music in the space all day. Ages 5+.


Wednesday 19 April, 10.30am

Pātaka Education Space
Stone Soup - Listen to audio stories about magical pots from around the world, while clay modelling a keepsake pinch pot to take home. Numbers are limited for this mindful session; RSVP essential to bee.trudgeon@poriruacity.govt.nz Ages 5+.

She is an Artist - Learn about some of the iconic female artists depicted in the wildly popular Little People, Big Dreams series, then collage your own portrait homage to the legendary Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo. All ages.
