Tuesday 26 September, 10.30am – Children’s Library

Author Visit – Join local author Michaela Keeble for a storytelling and creative

writing event. Hear Michaela read aloud from new picture book, Paku Manu Ariki

Whakatakapōkai, then be the hero of your own awesome story by creating a

handmade book about all the things that make you uniquely you.

Wednesday 27 September & Friday 29 September, 10am–12pm – Reading Room

Digital Discovery – Program an online Te Reo dictionary using Scratch, then play

Hare i te Whare (Harry in the House) with our Sphero Bolts. Numbers limited.

Odd Animals of Aotearoa – a story time celebrating doing things your own way.

Sunday 1 October, 1–3pm – Reading Room

Celebrate International Grandparents’ Day! Bring your Nana or Grandad to the library.

Write small family stories and poems together, with local writer Adrienne Jansen.

Have a chance to see them in a new book by Landing Press and try some of Grandma’s

home baking! For grandparents and grandchildren of all ages.

Ngā Waiata Pukapuka – join us for a musical story time featuring some of our

favourite homegrown songs as picture books.

Wednesday 4 October & Friday 6 October, 10am–12pm – Reading Room

Digital Discovery - Make your games accessible with Makey Makeys and code our

micro:bits to show Matariki animations and sound. Limited numbers.

Hairy Maclary’s 40th birthday – Celebrate with stories and art activities celebrating

our favourite raggedy rascal.

Author Visit – Q&A with Paku Manu Ariki Whakatakapōkai author Michaela Keeble.

Gecko Press will be joining us for book sales – take the opportunity to buy a signed copy.

All events are free and happen at Porirua City Centre Library. Kaitiaki to remain
