The number of items you can borrow
Most of the library collections have no restrictions on the number of items you can borrow.
Some collections do have restricted borrowing:
- Māori Adult Lending Collection – a limit of 5 items
- Pacific Adult Lending Collection – a limit of 5 items
- Māori Junior Collection allows unlimited loans
- Pacific Junior Collection allows unlimited loans
- Book Club in a Bag –2 bags, to allow for the change over in titles
- Books, music CDs, audio books, posters and puzzles are issued for three weeks.
- eBooks and eAudiobooks are issued for three weeks.
- Magazines are issued for two weeks.
- Bestseller books are issued for two weeks for $4.
- Most DVDs are issued for one week for $2.
- Multi-disc DVD sets (over 360 minutes running time) are issued for two weeks for $3.
- Interloans are usually issued for four to six weeks; the exact date is determined by the library it comes from.
Renewing items
- Books can be renewed twice, unless they've been requested by another borrower.
- Magazines cannot be renewed.
- Some items borrowed from other SMART libraries may not be able to be renewed.
- When renewing a DVD or bestseller, a further charge will apply.
- Most interloans can be renewed for a further three to four weeks - just ask the Interloans Librarian.
